New Tour Dates and Studio Updates
New artwork, Remix Preview + Fall Tour Dates
Welcome back to the Flowering Jungle. Thanks to everyone who pre-ordered Castaways Vol. 2 and listed to Flower Shower Last month. I still have a handful of copies left of the Blue Raspberry Kiwi vinyl, so if you haven’t grabbed one yet, get it now before they’re gone. I’ve had a lot going on this month, so I thought I’d share a little recap of my new work for my buddies at Juneshine along with a single that my friend John, of Rumtum fame is doing for me. Finally, a recap of my recent trip to Northern California and tour dates for fall with TV Girl.
Quick note: I know this newsletter is a little late, I’ve had some family stuff going on and haven’t been able to get things done. There will be two newsletters going out this month though, so keep eye out.
Juneshine in the Studio
I’ve been working on a new desert themed can for longtime friends, Juneshine this month. The release date is still under wraps, but I thought I’d share a few pictures of my process.
RUMTUM Remix Preview
It’s been a little over a year since the Botanica Dream album came out and I’m psyched to finally share a remix by one of my best friends and amazing artist, John Hastings aka RUMTUM. The track is “Isle Eyes” and is one of my favorites from the album. John’s bringing his signature spacey funk to the song. I’ve had it on repeat for days, but I wanted to share a little teaser of it below before it’s release next month. Let me know how you like it.
Some of you may remember John and my’s two collab releases from a few years back. You can check them out here:
Northern California and Beyond
Kelley and I took a trip to California this month and stayed at one of the coolest hotels I’ve ever been to, Timber Cove Resort. It’s about 2 hours north of San Francisco and super remote, but the views and trees are worth it. We spent our days hiking in the redwoods and along the coast and just generally enjoying the scenery. The hotel was built in the 1960s, sits on California’s second smallest state park and features a 93-foot high mosaic obelisk by Beniamino Bufano which blew my mind. If you’re close by, definitely check it out.
As a bonus we found Timber Cove in this coffee table book we have in our living room after we got home.
Fall Tour Dates with TV Girl
I’m very excited to get back to doing some shows this fall with my friends TV Girl. Things have really changed since we last played a show together in 2015 at a bar in Echo Park and I couldn’t be more excited to hit the road with these guys, especially to a few places I’ve never been. Check out all the dates below and give me a shout if you’ll be there.
Some real OGs might remember our collaborative track, Average Guy from back in the day. Check it out if you haven’t heard it.
