Flower Showers and May Giveaways

Welcome back! First of all, thanks so much to everyone who bought my print, Lemur’s Lounge, last month. I really poured my heart and soul into making it (as you could tell from last month’s newsletter) and was so psyched with how it turned out. The response from you all was awesome! It’s sold out now but keep an eye out for the next one dropping at the end of the summer.

This month I thought I would fill you in on what’s been happening in the Flowering Jungle studio lately and give some behind the scenes of my newest EP, Flower Shower, releasing July 28th, plus do a newsletter-only giveaway.

Can I Get a Remix?

I’ve been working this month on a remix for my buds, Cari Cari that I’m really excited about. We first started talking back in the winter, but I finally had time to make the remix this month after I finished my Flower Shower EP (more on that below). Their album, Welcome to Kookoo Island, has a really great vibe and I loved getting the opportunity to chop up some of their guitar lines and funk it up a bit with some bass, drums, and a little mellotron. Flower Shower EP

when the flowers shower, you just gotta catch the wave

Besides getting funky with a new remix, I’ve mostly been working on the release of my latest EP, Flower Shower, out July 28th.

Flower Shower is a compilation of some of my mellowest spring and summer vibes songs, meant to be listened to while watching the rain roll in. As the weather started to get warmer I found myself inspired by our backyard and it’s transformation. This year we’re attempting a wildflower garden and the process of mixing the seeds, sprinkling and watering has been really meditative. I wanted to make music that expresses the feeling of relaxed but hopeful anticipation you have in the spring and Flower Shower is that.

I started with two songs from the Botanica Dream sessions I loved but that felt like they needed their own showcase. I reworked them a bit and made three new ones. The vibe is purposefully mellow, meant to be kind of a salve to the harshness of winter as we move into warmer weather. I can’t wait for you all to hear it. I’ve included some rough audio clips from my studio during the recording. You can check them out below.

In other news, I finally broke down and made a Tiktok. I’ll be posting some animations and previews of new music along with some more BTS of my studio if you want to check it out.
